My Story

Hello my name is Robert, and I'm a 5th generation rancher. I raise animals on family land in the high desert mountain valley of central Utah. It all started in 1857, when my great-great grandfather came with several other families to settle what would become known as the granary of Utah.

My pioneer ancestors, and other families suffered through a brutally cold and snowy first winter, suffering heavy livestock loss, but through it all the silver lining was it helped ease tensions during a conflict with the local Indians who were on the brink of starvation who now had access to "frozen" beef. After the brutal winter and conflict subsided my family and others went on to settle and establish towns around the originally settled area of the river bottoms, known as "the bottoms", which I proudly still work the land 167 years later! They battled drought, heat, and snow creating a foundation and stepping stones for future generations such as my grandfather, one of nine children, who continued the same toil and struggle to raise sheep, dairy and beef cows, and pigs through the great depression, world war two. That same legacy continued with my father (one of seven) of hard work ethic, determination and strength post world war two.

As of 2019 I continued with that same grit and determination to carry onward, with hopes that my children, who are now 6th generation can continue to do the same in an ever changing world. It is with your support of buying the best beef, pork, chicken, eggs and animal feed products that the High Deseret Ranch Offers, that I can carry on that independent and rugged rancher spirit that has made this country great, and continue on the legacy that the trailblazing pioneers who settled and tamed the Intermountain West did so almost 175 years ago!
